Two second half goals sink Latics in Boxing Day clash at Bramhall Lane

Highflying Sheffield United scored two second half goals to secure a 2- 0 victory over Latics in the boxing day encounter at  Bramhall Lane.
There were few chances in th first half the best falling to Latics Ryan Flynn who had had a 20-yard shot turned over the bar by the Blades goalkeeper Simon Moore. 
 
Early in the second half Josh Law floated a free-kick just over the bar for Oldham. But as the half continued Sheffield United took control and it awas no surprise when they took the lead in the 72nd minute through Sharp.
 
Freddie Ladapo went then went close to equalising for Oldham with a fierce  25-yard volley which the Sheffield goalkeeper managed to parry wide.
 
As the game entered the dying minutes Sharp added a second for the home side two minutes from time to ensure a 2-0 home victory for Sheffield United.
