A goal in the sixth minute of stoppage time denied Oldham a point at MK Dons.
Latics were hopeful of climbing out of the relegation zone but stay one point adrift of fifth from bottom Swindon after losing out to the Dons.
It was a disappointing game with few chances and the closest chance in the first half fell to Oldham when Aaron Amadi-Holloway glanced Green's cross wide of the far post.
Not much improved after the break with chances from Darius Osei for the latics and Chuks Aneke for MK Dons being the games only highpoints before Maynard's last minute volley bagged the points for the Don's.
