Latics new owner, Moroccan businessman Abdallah Lemsagam, failed to bring them any luck at home to Plymouth Argyle.

Plymouth went ahead after 17 minutes from 12 yards through Antoni Sarcevic and scored again after  Johny Placide could only parry Ryan Taylor's fierce shot, which Ruben Lameiras prodded home to the delight of the travelling fans.

Oldham had chaces before half time but Argyle keeper Remi Matthews was in fine form.

Latics got back into the game nine minutes after the break when Davies crossed from the left which caused Plymouth defender Yann Songo' to miscue a clearence into his own net

Near the end Oldham came close to an equaliser through Kean Bryan but his header was deflected out of danger by Plymouth who held on to take full points.
