Latics on losing side in seven goal thriller

10-man Oldham found themselves on the losing side in a Seven goal thriller at Boundary Park  against high flying Charlton Athletic.

 

 
Charlton grabbed an 18th-minute lead when Ricky Holmes hammered a a 30 yard drive into the top corner.
 
Three  later Charlton scored again through Tarique Fosu-Henry.
 
Latics pulled a goal back in the 34th minute after 34 minutes through Craig davies who was fouled in the area and then scored from the penalty spot.
 
Oldham levelled the score six minutes after the break when the Eoin Doyle to marked his Oldham debut with a 12-yard finish.
 
Oldham went down to 10 men as Ousmane Fane received a second yellow card for bringing down Chris Solly.
 
Charlton took advantage of the extra man in the 62nd minute when Billy Clarke scored from close range. Ten minutes later it was  4-2 when  Joe Dodoo found the back of the net for Charlton.
 
Oldham got back into the game with eight minutes to go when Jack Byrne's 20-yard strike found the net. Despite a valiant last effort Latics found themselves on the losing side for the fifth time in a row.
