Reindeer parade hits town

Father Christmas and his team of reindeers strolled into  Oldham Town Centre recently during the annual Reindeer Parade  which gave young and old alike the chance to see real reindeers close up.
 
 
This years Reindeer parade featured Christmas characters, the cast of the Coliseum Theatre’s pantomime, Jack and The Beanstalk, and the Reindeer Rocks Youth band aswell as the Oldham town centre mascots Ollie and Millie who made their be making their first public appearance and there was also children’s reindeer puppetry, face-painting and balloon modelling.
 
It started on High Street and worked its way through Clegg Street, High Street, Lord Street, Albion Street and Henshaw Street before reaching Oldham Town Square Shopping Centre.
 
Local Children gave their letters for Santa to give to his elves next to the reindeer pen outside the Market Hall. There were be brass bands and street theatre  handing out free hats, balloons and sweets. Santa also opened his fairytale grotto in the Spindles Town Square Shopping Centre. 
 
The reindeer parade is one of many Christmas events taking place in Oldham.
