The Big Bang Bonfire returns to its home on Oldham Edge Playing Fields in Henshaw Street, Oldham OL1 3EN.

This will be a spectacular display, with a thrilling fire and light show and firework finale from UK champions Fantastic Fireworks.

It will commence at  5pm and there will be fairground and food stalls, followed by the official bonfire lighting at 6pm. The firework display will start at 7pm.

Oldham Council are working alongside Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and partners to keep people safe from fires, injuries and nuisance. The Big Bang Bonfire will help ease the pressure that can be put on the emergency services on bonfire night.

You are advised to wear suitable clothing and footwear and asked to discard any rubbish in the bins on site or take it home to dispose of. The following are not allowed on site and will be confiscated; alcohol, gazebos, fires, barbecues, fireworks, sparklers or any naked flames. Children under 16 years old must be accompanied by a responsible adult, and attendees are asked that they don’t bring their dogs, except for assistance dogs, on site.

Free parking will be available in all council-owned town centre car parks, on-street pay and display parking bays and Spindles car park from 3pm on the day. Demand for spaces will be high, so you are advised to use public transport where possible. The Old Leisure Centre car park on Rock Street will not be available on the day and Lord Street will be closed from 3pm from its junction with Rock Street to Yorkshire St.
