Oldham preparing for Coronation celebration

Oldham Council is preparing itself for the biggest Coronation celebration in Greater Manchester.

There will be street parties across the borough  to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III. There will be £100 grants have been released for street party organisers 

A tribute to the best of british music takes place in the town centre with a big screen to watch the Coronation live from London, with a fun line up of the 'Best of British Music' tribute acts including Queen II, Gladness, Do It Like DUA, The Threetles, & Tania as Amy Winehouse. Plus a whole host of family-friendly activities and strolling street performers.

Districts across Oldham will be dressed for the occasion, and local ward members and community groups will be kept up-to-date on celebration plans for the local areas, with bunting being provided to businesses close to the Coronation weekend, to allow them to dress their windows and join in the festivities.
