A new traditional market is being launched in Chadderton on Wednesday 5 April.
The new market will be located in Chadderton Precinct opposite Asda and will take place between 9am – 4pm every Wednesday.
The markets history can be traced back to the 1920s when it was held on Wellington Street. It ran until around 1935 and then re-emerged in December 1985 until 2005.
Oldham Council leader Jean Stretton said
“The market was a huge part of Chadderton’s history throughout the years and we want to carry on that tradition.
“We need to use Oldham’s markets to help keep the local economy thriving for years to come.
