Local MP Oldham East and Saddleworth MP Debbie Abrahams, MP for Oldham East & Saddleworth along with the Mayor and Mayoress of Oldham,  launched a £5.9 million housing scheme aimed at a range of buyers from the town.
 
Buyers have the option to purchase houses through the government's Help to Buy scheme, shared ownership or outright sale. Shared ownership prices for a two-bedroom house start from £46,198, for a 35 percent share with a monthly rent of £197, or £131,995 for an outright sale.
 
For a 35 per cent share of a three-bedroom home prices begin at £58,625, for a 35 percent share, with a monthly rent of £250 or £167,500 to buy outright. Four bedroom properties are available for outright sale only for £185,000.
 
Matthew Harrison, chief executive of Great Places Housing Group, said: “We built Leesbrook View, a leafy development on the outskirts of Oldham, to help alleviate the housing shortage in the area. The development caters for a variety of house hunters, from first time buyers, to homeowners.”
