Work to convert Oldhams historic grade II-listed Town hall into a seven-screen cinema and restaurant complex is almost complete.
Oldham council has announced the family-oriented redevelopment will open on Friday, October 21, at the start of half-term.
The scheme will deliver a major economic boost including new jobs.
The launch will showcase the town’s past and future will include family activities, music, attractions and performances with a cinematic theme.
Jean Stretton, Oldham Council leader said:
“The Old Town Hall is going to be the heartbeat of the new Oldham town centre – one that has a great offer for families, visitors, business and people of all generations.
She thanked everyone in Oldham for being patient while the redevelopment work was going on.
The £36m plan will be a major economic boost for the Town.
Aswell as the state of the art cinema Oldham Council has just agreed terms with a major restaurant chain who will be alongside brands like Costa Coffee, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Loungers and Nando’s with lots more to come
