Christmas in Oldham town centre

Santa’s Reindeer Parade

Saturday 12 November, 11am–3pm

(parade starts at 1pm) 

Santa’s coming to town… and he’s bringing his reindeer with him. This year’s parade has a Christmas movies theme and features more than 200 participants, artists and

community groups.

 

Christmas Lights Switch-On

Sunday 20 November, 1–5.45pm

The fun starts in Parliament Square at 1pm, with TV favourites Chase and Marshall from PAW Patrol, who will be making appearances at intervals throughout the day.

Along with Britain’s Got Talent’s dancing Stormtroopers, Boogie Storm, and Oldham’s very own Ollie and Millie.

Join them all, over at Tommyfield Market for the big switch-on at 4.45pm. They will be in a spectacular stage show, featuring a fantastic firework display. BehindTommyfield Market Hall, OL1 3BG

 

FiremanSam

Saturday 26 November,

10.30,11.30am, 1, 2 and 3pm

Fireman Sam will be leaving Pontypandy to visit Oldham Town Centre for the day. Pop along to Spindles Town Square Shopping Centre and meet Sam. Plus enjoy free face painting throughout the day.

 

Brass Monkeys

Saturday 3 December, 11am–4pm

Enjoy traditional music and funky festive sounds at our annual winter brass band festival. See the world famous Brighouse and Rastrick Band play alongside an array

of brilliant local bands from across Oldham and Saddleworth. Plus festive face painting, balloon modelling and storytelling in Tommyfield Market Hall.

 

Christmas Tree Festival

Saturday 3 December – Sunday 11 December, 11am–4pm

The annual festival is back with more than 60 individually decorated trees for you to browse and get inspiration from. Why not spend an afternoon at Oldham Parish

Church and listen to the sounds of carols on weekdays from 12noon? Don’t forget, the café will be open throughout the festival so you can warm up with a cuppa. 

 

Bing and Flop

Sunday 4 December, 10.30am, 11.30am, 1, 2 and 3pm

The favourite TV duo will be in Spindles Town Square Shopping Centre to meet little bingsters throughout the day. As well as meeting the characters there’s also free

face painting throughout the day.

 

Peppa Pig

Saturday 10 December, 10.30am,11.30am, 1, 2 and 3pm

Peppa is popping in to Oldham town centre to see all her young fans. Come and see Peppa at Spindles Town Square Shopping Centre with free face painting throughout the day.

 

Ice Age – Sid and Scrat

Saturday 17 December, 10.30am,11.30am, 1, 2 and 3pm

Scrat’s lost his acorn and he’s looking for it in Oldham! Meet Scrat and his friend Sid the Sloth at Spindles Town Square Shopping Centre, with free face painting throughout the day.
