Actor, writer, impressionist and comedian John Thomson hosted this years 2016 event at the Queen Elizabeth Hall for the gala celebration dinner. He introduced each of the categories as the Oldham’s business community got together to recognize and reward Oldham's outstanding businesses.
Awards Steering Group chair Steve Kilroy said: “We have worked year on year to increase the prominence of the awards and this year, thanks to the generosity and continuing support of our sponsors, we were able to engage with this major celebrity. “All of us on the steering group were hugely excited by this development and really looking forward to taking the awards to the next level in 2017.
The 2017 One Oldham Business Awards will take place on the evening of Friday 12th May 2017 at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Oldham.
The Awards reward businesses excellence amongst companies located within the Borough covering wealth creation, innovation, inspirational leadership, community support, entrepreneurism and good practice in people management and the contribution that businesses make in helping to shape the fabric of our society.
There are many marketing and profile raising opportunities for the thirty plus finalists and each award is judged against criteria based on the award category description with the event designed to enable any business, regardless of size, form or sector to enter and be judged fairly.
