Oldham Hosts Illuminate Arts Festival

Oldham is hosting the Illuminate Arts Festival this friday.
 
Three of Oldham town centre’s iconic venues play host to the late-night arts festival.
 
Oldham’s Parish Church, Parliament Square and Gallery Oldham will host events for all the  family to enjoy on Friday 10 February (5-9pm).
 
It will stasrt with a river of paper lanterns accompany the Oldham Owl, with music and rhythm, to its new home in Parliament Square.
 
3D projections from Illuminos will follow at Oldham Parish Church along with tours beneath the building and the five metre tall Oldham Giant will make an appearance.
 
Global Grooves present a  performance inspired by Shakespeare’s The Tempest.
 
At Gallery Oldham there will be a late opening to showcase its award-winning collections. An illuminated vintage bus from Manchester Transport Museum will be on show to mark the new exhibition "Fares Please".
 
A performance by the exciting new youth dance piece, choreographed by Jessica Pearson will take place at The Oldham theatre Workshop.
 
LED electronics will hold a workshop at Hack oldham during the evening (6-9pm) at their Hack Space in Tommyfield Market with charges applying. There will be photos from the past at Oldham Local Studies and Archives (5-7pm)
