NHS Tameside and Glossop Clinical Commissioning Group (T&G CCG) in partnership with Tameside Council are reminding people in Tameside and Glossop where to access expert medical treatment during the extended Easter bank holiday (Friday 30 March – Monday 2 April 2018).

While some GP Practices may be closed, patients can still access the treatment they need by calling NHS 111 to speak to trained advisers who will assess their symptoms and direct them to the best, most appropriate service for their medical needs.  All calls are free from landlines and mobile phones and available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The Walk-in centre based in Ashton-under-lyne is also available for urgent (non-emergency) care 8am – 8pm Monday-Sunday including the Bank holidays and you can call 0161 342 7050 for appointments.

People are reminded to order any medication they need in plenty of time so they have a good supply during the extended Easter bank holiday weekend. They are also encouraged to visit their local pharmacy for quick, confidential advice on minor health problems such as coughs and colds.

A number of local opticians across Tameside and Glossop also provide a free NHS service for minor eye complaints which you can access during the bank holiday period. For more information on where and how you can book appointments along with opening times for pharmacies and GP practices in Tameside and Glossop over the bank holiday weekend, please visit www.tamesideandglossopccg.org/bankholiday
